After 34 years the Loew’s Kings Theatre located on 1027 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn NY will under-go a $70 million restoration process, and will soon re-open their doors. The 3,676 seat theater originally opened in the year 1929 was a venue to movies as well as vaudevillian shows. The theater closed in 1977, it’s final showing was the movie Islands in the Stream written by Ernest Hemingway and starring George C. Scott. When restored the new and improved theater will open in the year 2014, and will be able to seat 3200 people as well as present 250 shows a year.
