Movie Night: Popcorn, Nachos, and a Meatloaf Sandwich
If you are a New Yorker or just visiting New York and you are in search for a good movie to see at a theater- you may be also looking for a place to eat before or after the movie. Why not have both and enjoy a dinner and a movie at the same place?
You will get both dinner and movie at the Nitehawk Cinema. Nitehawk Cinema, is a movie theater located in Williamsburg Brooklyn, and is the first place in New York to offer table service while you are watching a movie. Your waiter will deliver your food before and during the movie.
If you are still hungry and would like to order something off of the menu, you do not have to wait until after the movie; you can just write your order down on a piece of paper and pencil provided by the Cinema and place it in front of your table. Along with the dining in the theaters, Nitehawk Cinema has a bar in the lobby.
Ordering food works on a flag system. When you place your order in front of the table a server will come by and take your written order. Just before the movie ends, a waiter will ask if you want anything else, and the server will bring your bill all before the credits roll.
Nitehawk Cinema is a specialty theater. Nitehawk Cinema offers three theaters; one with 92 seats, another with 60 seats, and lastly one with 28 seat capacity. The feature presentations are not your normal blockbusters, but instead are some nice independent films that many movie-goers can enjoy.
If you are an independent filmmaker, and would like a chance to get your film viewed then you may submit your film to Nitehawk Cinema where they will review it and possibly play it before the main feature presentation begins. Nitehawk Cinema requires films submitted to be 5 minutes long.
With ticket sales on the rise, and it becoming very convenient to just rent a movie from Netflix and stay at home; movie theater owners have to become a little creative when it comes to movie entertainment. It looks like Nitehawk Cinema has done many things right in creating a nice entertaining evening to the movie-goer.
